IT specialist (Kampala)

Location: Kampala, Uganda

Based in Kampala with extensive travel to our up-country offices, you will work as a member of the Uganda School Improvement Project team.

Your role will include:

    • Systems and Database Design
    • Implementation and maintenance in MS Access and SQL Server
    • Analysing school performance data
    • PC installation and support in a network environment and delivering training on MS Office
    • Good knowledge of Visual Basic Access programming and MYSQL will be an added advantage

Job Application Form

You will need to demonstrate strong IT, training, writing, inter-personal, and organisational skills. You will have a relevant degree, a driving licence and be accustomed to working under pressure. Knowledge of the education sector would also be an advantage.

Applicants must complete the above form and either return it completed and signed by post, addressed to: Programme Director, LCD, Box 25630 Kampala.


Or: hand deliver the form to the LCD Office at The Education Standards Agency Building (Near National Curriculum Development Centre), Banda, Kyambogo, Kampala. The closing date is 5pm Friday 13th June 2008.

Fundraising and Programmes Asssistant (volunteer)

Location: London office, LCD England and Wales

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Link Community Development (LCD) in the London office.

Based in London the voluntary Fundraising and Programmes Assistant main duties will include:

    • Research new areas of support
    • Conduct a research project into African education NGOs in the UK
    • Make approaches to potential donors and supporters
    • Help to write and design a variety of communication materials.
    • Supporting the maintenance and development of the Link Schools Programme
    • To undertake other duties as may be required from time to time.

We would be looking for a commitment of two days a week for a minimum of three months.
