Africa By Bike
Africa by Bike is a cycling expedition of over 30,000 kilometres from
London through Africa to Cape Town, being undertaken by two LCD supporters; Anna
Heywood and Luke Skinner. They are aiming to raise £10,000 for Link
Community Development and spread awareness of LCD's educational work in Africa
throughout the UK. The expedition is entirely self-financed and all sponsorship
raised is kindly donated directly to LCD.
Anna and Luke set off from Greenwich in August 2004 taking on the challenge
of a lifetime and passing through some of the world's most geographically and
culturally spectacular regions aiming to reach Cape Town in April 2006, an
amazing 2-year journey. The journey takes them through Western Europe and then
across the entirety of Africa from Morocco and the Sahara in the North to the
mountains and bush of southern Africa, travelling only by Bike!
