Link Community Development in Scotland would like you to join us in part in taking part in the Great Scottish Run to raise funds for LCD's core work of improving the quality of education offered to children in Malawi, Ghana, Uganda, South Africa and Ethiopia. LCD works by providing training and support to teachers and others in the areas of school management, and teaching and learning and working to support communities and district education staff.

Join LCD on the run through Glasgow where you will be crossing some of the city’s most famous sights including George Square, Bellahouston Park and over the Kingston Bridge in order to support educational projects in Africa. You can either run the 10k run or half marathon event.

Last year LCD Scotland raised over £2500 by taking part in the Great Scottish Walk in Edinburgh, this year we hope to raise even more with your support!

LCD Ireland Mini Marathon

LCD Ireland is very proud to have just held its first fundraising event, the Flora Women's Mini Marathon, in Dublin on June 2nd. Nine ladies joined the 50,000 other runners to support the work of LCD and between them they raised a very substantial €4,500, which is still climbing!

Congratulations and a very warm thank you to all who took part! We are looking forward participating in this event again next year, with even more ladies hitting the streets of Dublin in support of LCD!

Thank you also to our post-marathon picnic sponsors, Tesco Dun Laoghaire SC and M&S Simply Food Dun Laoghaire, as well as Active Embroidery who contributed towards our Link-logo T-shirts!

The run winds its way from Piccadilly to St.Paul’s Cathedral past some of the most famous landmarks in London.

LCD runners 2007

A huge thank you to all of our runners who took part in the British 10k Road Race on 1st July 2007.

More than 50 LCD supporters ran through the rain,some finishing in less than 50 minutes (and the rest of us finishing some time later!) We raised over £8,000 from the event so thank you to everyone who took part.

LCD is always looking for energetic individuals to take part in running events around the country to raise charitable funds for LCD. Please get in touch if you would like to here more about some of the running events you can take part in throughout 2008.
