LCD Regional Conference:

School Partnerships: Ideas and Realities

LCD brought together members of staff from some of the 100 schools in the Midlands and northern regions of England currently linked to schools through LCD. There was also representatives from a variety of other educational and cultural organisations.

On the day, participants had the opportunity to hear from a number of specialist speakers as well as teachers with extensive experience of school partnerships. They also had the opportunity to take part in workshops covering a range of issues with the aim of supporting and enriching their partnerships.

Sessions included:

1. Learning about realities in Southern schools
2. Developing partnership agreements
3. Planning and doing a reciprocal visit
4. Activities to embed the global dimension into the curriculum with reference to the Every Child Matters agenda
5. Learning about LSP/LCD programme work
